Methane Production Syngas vented from the continuous flow reactors is used in Methane-from-Syngas process. Methane recovered from this process has energy value up to 880 BTU/SCF as opposed to Syngas with the high heating value of 300 BTU/SCF. Methane can be used as an additional fuel for the main process or liquefied for the use in other chemical processes. The main bioconversion pathway comprises transformation of carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide to methane gas and water:
The process is exothermic. Our biocatalyst collection includes robust methanogens. The use of these strains easily fills any possible technology gaps related to complete carbon recovery from the vented gas mixture whether air-blown gasification process is employed as the way of making synthesis gas.
